Disco Elysium is an adaptation for Android devices of the RPG of the same name, developed by ZA/UM, the same company that developed the original game. The goal of this adaptation (not a remake or remaster) is to transfer the story and experience of the game for PC and consoles to a shorter, more compact format that aligns better with the philosophy of gameplay on mobile devices.
Same characters, same story
The storyline and characters in this Android version of Disco Elysium are exactly the same. The protagonist of the story is Harry Du Bois, accompanied by his partner, Kim Kitsuragi. Harry's goal is to investigate a murder in the Martinaise district, a task that will become increasingly difficult mainly due to his own problems. Like in the original, you decide how you want Harry to behave; if you want to play a drunken brute, you can, and if you prefer your Harry to be a brainy teetotaler, you can also play this way.
Two free chapters, then pay to unlock
Although Disco Elysium is completely free to download, it's only the first two chapters that you'll be able to play for free. Once you finish the second episode of the game, you'll have to decide whether to unlock the full adventure to keep playing or to leave it there. In any case, that's plenty of time to find out if you like the game. As it's a text-heavy RPG (although this Android version has less than the PC version), it isn't a game for everyone.
First-person perspective when investigating settings
One of the new features of the Disco Elysium edition is that you can explore some of the settings from a first-person perspective. Instead of moving freely through the settings, like in the console and PC versions, you'll be able to explore specific areas of Martinaise and interact with certain elements as well as the characters there. This makes the game even more comfortable to play in portrait format.
One of the best RPGs from the past few years
Download the Disco Elysium APK if you like role-playing games and want to enjoy what has undoubtedly been one of the most influential titles since its release in 2019. This Android version has successfully translated the plot of the original game into a shorter and more easily digestible format.
